Answers

1.Yes, you can, however the art will be shipped at different times from different locations and so won’t arrive at the same time.

2.It depends on where you live and where the artwork is being shipped from.

3.If the artwork is damaged, please contact us at help@start.art and send photos of the damaged work. We will then arrange for it to be shipped back to the artist and we will arrange for a refund of your purchase price from the insurer.

4.We ship to most locations that are serviced by a major carrier such as DHL or Crown, our nominated shipper. Crown is a global fine art logistics, shipping & installation specialist.

5.Insurance costs are calculated based on the value of the artwork and are calculated at the time of purchase. All artwork has to be insured otherwise you cannot return it to the buyer should it arrive damaged from the journey.

6.The artist packages the artwork for shipping, or in the case of certain high value works or locations, our fine art shipping partner, Crown, can do the packing of the work.

7.Artists are selected by an international panel of distinguished curators.

9.Our payment providers are PayPal and Stripe. We accept VISA and Mastercard, and in some cases, crypto currency. Electronic transfers can be done but the artwork won’t be released until the transfer is reflected in our bank account.

10.An item of clothing can be returned if it is in its original packaging with all tags on. The return shipping is for your account though. We will then replace with a different size if we have it in stock.

11.No, we are not a marketplace. Only selected artists and curated artworks are sold on the site.

13.All artworks are sold in US dollars.

14.You have 14 days to return the artwork but return shipping and insurance will be for your account. You will be refunded for the artwork after administrative fees have been deducted.

15.You will be provided with a tracking number for your purchase.

16.Any import duties or tax relevant to your country of residence will be for you to settle with your local tax and customs authorities.

Answers

1.Yes, you can, however the art will be shipped at different times from different locations and so won’t arrive at the same time.

2.Once an artist is approved by the curator panel, they can present their artworks to the curator panel, who will then review / curate certain pieces appropriate for the site.

3.Between 3-5 artworks at any one time.

4.Once an item is sold it is removed from the site. It is up to you if you wish to replace it – however the same curatorial selection process will take place. No artworks that have not been reviewed and approved by the curator panel can be sold on the site.

5.No, you do not. However, if one of the artworks listed on our site is sold elsewhere you have to notify us within 24 hours.

6.Yes, you can providing you don’t have an exclusive agreement with the gallery and you are permitted to present your artworks on our site for sale.

7.We are different in many ways. Every artist on our site is selected by our international panel of distinguished curators and every artwork on our site is reviewed and curated. Further, we enable you to sell both traditional art and NFTs, we help educate the new buyer, market your work globally, have a less traditional look and feel that appeals to an audience you may not have had access to before, and are partnered with luminaries from the art world and celebrity artists that drive buyers to the site through their social media presence and posts.

9.It costs nothing to be on the platform. We take a commission upon the sale of your artwork. This is all explained in the Artist Agreement. However, if you have any further legal questions, please contact art@start.art.

10.There is no term for the contract – you can choose to end your participation on the platform, via an email notification, at any time.

11.The buyer pays for shipping and insurance.

12.You, the artist, are responsible for packaging the artwork. Please remember this when pricing your works.

13.Yes, you can. However, the artist and the artworks will still have to be selected via our curator panel.

14.Once the artwork arrives with the buyer, we will issue payment to you.

15.We take money from the buyer prior to you releasing the artwork so you don’t have to worry about non-payment. Once the buyer receives the artwork, we will release payment to you.

16.Yes, all payments are made in US Dollars or in crypto currency depending on the specific artwork.

17.We are not a referral-based website. Artists may be nominated. However, the artist and the artworks will still have to be selected via our curator panel.
